The exhibition was opened by our very dear and supportive Ms. Salima Hashmi on September 4th, 2010, at Alhamra Art Gallery, Lahore, and continued to run until September 10th, 2010. Sanjh was well attended by visitors from all walks of life, many of whom were particularly excited about buying quality artworks at extremely affordable prices. For three weeks, with pressing deadlines and works to collect and document, we received valuable support from many friends, art enthusiasts, humanists and good people like you. With your collective support we have so far successfully raised approximately 9 lakh Rupees with almost 50% work sold. At present, the exhibition continues online with details of more works for sale on www.retroarts.com.pk until mid October 2010. Also, we are selling a beautiful compilation of exhibited works in the form of a 101 postcard collection for Rs. 500 to generate further funds. At the close of the online exhibition and after transporting sold works to their respective destinations, we will present a collective cheque payment of the entire 100 % of raised funds in favor of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, in aide of their relief efforts for flood affectees. PRCS’s presence in the relief effort area is undoubtedly a prominent one with long term and closely monitored rescue and rehabilitation agendas making it our most preferred organization to entrust the funds with. To ensure transparency from our end, Team Sanjh will share the letter received from PRCS with contributors and supporters of Sanjh art exhibition. The real donors and champions of this entire fund raising effort are predominantly the contributing artists as they take home nothing except for their own goodwill in return of beautiful creations that they have selflessly donated for the cause along with the time, money and effort to execute them. Please write to us at sanjh@retroarts.com.pk for any queries and feedback.
